Employment contracts

An employer in California is free to offer a potential employee a contract. Doing so usually takes the position out of the "at-will" doctrine, so care should be exercised when deciding to use an employment contract.

Employment contracts are often used for executive level or highly specific positions because of the level of risk associated with the responsibilities of the role.
