Employment contracts

Some employers, particularly in some specific industries, and/or for some specific titles, often use employment contracts when they hire someone. 

These are contractual relationships and generally do not fall within the "at-will" employment doctrine in California. Rather, the terms of the contract govern the relationship.

If you have been presented with an employment contract, it is prudent to have an employment attorney review the contract to see if the terms are what you understand them to be from your discussions and to ensure that no terms unfairly prejudice you.  If negotiations are needed, Michael Trust Law, APC can handle that for you, as well.
